MISSION STATEMENT

“Cole Academy provides a challenging learning environment with high

expectations for each child. Students receive developmentally-appropriate

instruction that allows for individual differences and learning styles in a safe,

orderly, caring and supportive environment. Cole Academy graduates will be

equipped with the necessary skills to excel in middle school, high school and

college.”

Cole Academy has over a thirty (30) year history of serving children in the greater Lansing area.  Presently, Cole Academy is a kindergarten through sixth grade school with a capacity of 210 students.  The building provides a small intimate setting for the students and staff. The school is conveniently located at 1915 West Mt. Hope, between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Pleasant Grove Road. 

The philosophy at Cole Academy is that all children have unique traits and value. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all Cole Academy staff to ensure that differentiated instruction occurs at every level. The staff at Cole Academy also work together to provide the best possible learning environment for our students.  Each classroom is staffed with a certified teacher and a highly qualified Para-professional teacher assistant.  There is one adult staff in the classroom for every fifteen 15 students.  Mr. Shaughnessy, the building Principal and Superintendent, oversees the operation of the school/district and is a familiar face as he greets students and parents as they arrive and leave the building each day.  Please feel free to give us a call or send a message via our contact us page.
